5290 PLATE: This 10 1/2" plate is one of the most gorgeous done for the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1977, from Aynsley. Aynsley has a touch in decorating that far surpasses all other companies. They are always the most decorative. This plate is no exception. The 2" turquoise and gold band is wonderful. The center of the plate has Her Majesty's coat of arms followed by a list of the Kings and Queens of England starting with Harold in 1066 to Elizabeth in 1952. SOLD 5299 DISH: A rare glass 6" X 13" plate or tray which has survived for 24 years without damage, scratching or being broken. I bought this dish new.It is a commemorative for the wedding of HRH Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. I love the royal blue and gold colors. The rim is edged in the Prince's of Wales feather design and a cross. There is a gold initial C and D on opposite sides of the dish. The center reads, To commemorate the marriage of H.R.H. Nice sepia tone photo of a young , beautiful Queen in the center with flags on the four sides. Most of the gold edging has worn off. This plate is from Alfred Meakin, England.
