Charles writes,
My Dear ________
It is 10:30 P.M. and I am just about to go to bed - like a good
little jockey --- in the hope
that all will be well for tomorrow at Newberry. But before I wind
my way up the dusty
staircase, via my ravaged, filthy, carpetless bedroom, I just
wanted to grab a moment to
tell you how really grateful I was for you that very lovely evening
at Lambourn on
Tuesday.
It was incredibly decent of you to bother to put me up and to
subvert me with delicious
food. it was also extraordinary joy that Sarah should come down
as well and we could all
indulge unashamedly in national hunt talk.
Thinking about tit. it must be mad writing this before I come
to dinner tomorrow... I
knew the (can't read) had gone to my poor head!
Much love, Charles

chaos, save chance!!
I just wanted to say Judy, how enormously touched we were by your
concern & please
forgive us for not coming-

You are looking at a rare piece of
history. This bracelet belonged the most famous women of all time.Imagine
owning and wearing a piece of jewelry once belonging to Princess
Diana. As we all know, Diana loved children. One of her favorites
was the daughter of a good friend, who she invited to be in her
wedding . She loved this little girl and stayed friends with her
until her death in 1997. After many of her visits, Diana would
send her little gifts and note cards. Diana had a collection of
enameled bracelets she wore all through her teenage years. After
many visits, she would select a bracelet and send it to her little
friend. A British magazine did an article last year on her bridesmaids.
I quote from the article, "I got to know all the other bridesmaids
and page boys and we had a lot of fun, although I don't see any
of them now. I remember going down to Highgrove and she (Diana)
showed me all over the house. We went into the kitchen and she
said, "Here's the cupboard where the biscuits are kept. If
you ever feel hungry, help yourself." In her bathroom, she
had a lot of enameled bracelets and each time I visited she would
give me one. I was so thrilled to have some grown-up jewelry.
This one bracelet is being offered with the gift tag. Along with
the bracelet and the gift tag, you will receive a copy of the
British magazine carrying the story of her bridesmaid who fondly
remembered Diana, the woman she used to call her big sister.
This light blue cloisonne bracelet is one of five bangles sent to her little bridesmaid . It comes with a little note cards which reads, " I thought you might like the blue one, Diana". The little note is somewhat soiled, having been kept for 26 years. Remember, this isn't a gift purchased. This was Diana's bracelet. SOLD

Dear _____
This is just to say how hugely I enjoyed yesterday's ride &
also to say how much I
appreciate everything you have done to encourage me along the
jumping road. It must
have been hell for you yesterday, wondering what was going to
happen when I rode
Allibar for the first time on a racecourse- particularly as you
had found the horse for me!
No doubt if something had gone slightly wrong there would have
been several people
only too ready to leap on you and tell you you were mad, etc.....
So- I cannot possibly thank you enough for having confidence in
me and making it
possible to have another of the greatest thrills in my life. I
can't wait for the next chance
to ride old Allibar and do hope he is sound today..
Love, as ever , Charles
